By chance, he joined the Jingwu Sect, and became an apprentice to Chen Zhen as his teacher. In order to divide the various forces in China, Ida used Matsumoto Kosuke to frequently challenge various Chinese martial arts schools. All the martial arts schools were defeated, and finally Jing Wu Sect was chosen as the next to be defeated. In order to get Chen Zhen to fight Matsumoto in the competition, Ida used Luo Shuzhang as a hostage to force Chen Zhen to participate in Matsumoto's challenge.
